Winner: The Deck

When The Deck first opened in Phrom Phong, everyone thought it would be a hi-so joint. They were wrong. The food is high-end, as are some of the drinks, but that’s not why this place gets crowded during the day. Happy hour runs from 8am to 7pm, 11 hours of happy hour in a fun downtown spot on Sukhumvit Soi 20. The interior is nice, but if the weather is cooperating, you should definitely take your crew outside for a good time on the, well, deck for a nice alfresco day of drinking. 

Hemingway Bangkok

Papa himself would approve of Hemingway’s happy hour deals, variably (and sometimes with extended hours), it starts at early lunch and usually ends in the after-dinner hours. Play your cards right, and you’ll find draft beers for around B100 and wine by the glass from B129. Let’s face it, there aren’t a lot of spaces on Sukhumvit Soi 11 where you can just chill, drink, and eat. That food menu, by the way, goes well beyond bar bites, and the wings are a must-try. 

Bar.Yard

Okay, so this is definitely the best rooftop bar in the city. It has some of the best food, creative drinks, and cool company. But, if you write articles for a living or do something of equal economic value like a 19th century chimney sweep, then sometimes you need a little help. Enter Heatwave Happy Hour every day from 5-7pm. All drinks are priced at B350 — which for these concoctions is a steal. This year saw a major revamp for the venue, so if you’ve been meaning to drink your way through this menu, now’s the time. 

Beer Republic

Beer lovers can’t get enough of Beer Republic, a space that changes the Chitlom craft brew game. Keep an eye out for the happy hour deals at this, which lately have been buy three get one free. For these taps, that’s a good deal. And, once you have three beers, you may as well have a fourth, and if you have a fourth, well, it’d be silly not to have another three. By then, you’ll be glad this space is just a stone’s throw away from the BTS. 

BKK CF

There needed to be a sports bar and dive bar on the list and we’re glad it’s BKK CF in Onnut. No one really knows why this spot on the second floor at Habito Mall has such an intense following, but it might have something to do with a happy hour that starts at 9am (yes, 9am) and finishes at 7pm. Grab a big beer for just B100 and settle in for a long day of drinking. Sometimes it’s crowded, but it’s always low-key fun.
