Dry Wave Cocktail Studio

It was the talk of the town when it opened in 2024, and remained the jewel of the city’s nightlife scene from that moment on. Dry Wave Cocktail Studio feels like the culmination of a two-decade journey by owner and head mixologist Supawit “Palm” Muttarattana, who’s also won our “Bartender of the Year” award for 2025. After building up a tremendous reputation across some of the city’s best establishments—names seasoned Bangkok drinkers will know, like Fuchsia, Vesper, and Rabbit Hole—Palm and his equally talented team truly built something Bangkok hasn’t seen before.
Found in Sodality Project, a Thonglor community space that also houses follow BAD finalist Must Wine Bar, Dry Wave became famous for its “Super Classic” cocktail menu—the 2.0 version just launched in March. The drinks list challenges the bar team to merge two classic cocktails into a single cocktail. A spicy bloody Maria and fruity sex on the beach become “Sand, Sea & Sun”; the citrusy jabs of a paper plane and floral tones of an aviation become “Fly, Fly Away”; the smoky wafts of a mezcal martini and fruity breakfast martini fuse to become “Morning Tijuana”; and the list goes on. It’s a simple concept to grasp, but horrendously difficult to execute well. But execute it well they do, and the bar is rightfully loved for it.
“When consulting for other businesses, you have to follow the briefs and creative suggestions,” Palm told BK short after the venue opened. “But when running your own place, all the elements should tell a story of who you are.”
Dry Wave and its lead man Palm picked up three wins at the BAD Awards this year—Best New Bar, Bartender fo the Year, and Bar of the Year—and placed as top-five finalists in two other categories—Best New Cocktail Bar and Best New Design. That’s makes it the most highly acclaimed venue in the BAD Award’s eight-year history. Well deserved.
